What Every Player Needs for Safe and Comfortable Training
At West Cork Volleyball Club, we care deeply about our players’ safety, comfort, and performance. Whether you’re just starting out or already an experienced player, having the right gear is essential.
Indoor Volleyball Shoes – The Most Important Item
Wearing proper indoor volleyball shoes is critical. Regular runners or generic sports shoes don’t offer the grip, stability, or ankle support required for fast lateral movements on an indoor court.
Why it matters:
- Reduces the risk of ankle sprains and other injuries
- Provides better grip to prevent slipping on court surfaces
- Supports quick movement and jumping, improving performance
- Protects knees and joints by offering proper cushioning
Investing in a good pair of indoor volleyball shoes is not just about comfort – it’s about safety.
Knee Pads
Volleyball involves quick dives and falls. Knee pads protect against bruises and long-term joint stress, especially for younger or newer players still learning how to fall safely.
Shorts & T-Shirts
We recommend players wear:
- Athletic shorts (comfortable and easy to move in)
- Breathable t-shirts or training tops
Clothing should allow for full movement and help manage sweat during intense sessions.
Socks
A good pair of sports socks can prevent blisters and add comfort inside your volleyball shoes. We recommend moisture-wicking materials to keep feet dry.
Club Uniforms
For matches and club events, official uniforms may be required. More details will be shared during the season.
